This was a commissioned piece. It really looks like the horse photo that I worked from. The horse was deceased and I only had the photo to work from. The people that commissioned me to do this own some of my other work and it was important that this piece, while a portrait still needed to look like I had painted it as well as looking like the horse. I loved the challenge.
