My work has been likened to Franz Marc's work pre-World War I. Franz March was a German artist and founder of the Der Blaue Reiter Gruppa. The Der Blaue Reiter Gruppa translates to the Blue Rider Group. Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee were members of the group among others. Franz Marc was killed on a WWI Battlefield in 1916. These horses are influenced from Franz Marc's Blue Foals painting.
A Colorado native and long-time Fort Collins resident, Bob's painting style reflects his Western Heritage yet is uniquely his own. He strives for an image that is unusual and that brings pleasure in the doing as well as in the viewing. His work is often stylized, often whimsical, always colorful and strong in design and composition. Animals, landscapes, people, history and mythology provide him a wealth of subject matter.
